- The USDA Southwest Watershed Research Center has a mission to to understand and
model the effects of changing climate, land use, and management practices on
the hydrologic cycle, soil erosion processes, and watershed resources; to
develop remote sensing technology and apply geospatial analysis techniques; to
develop decision support tools for natural resource management; and to develop
new technology to assess and predict the condition and sustainability of
rangeland watersheds.
