The School of Life Sciences is located at the Riccarton Campus of
Heriot Watt University on the outskirts of Edinburgh. One of six new
university schools, Life Sciences includes a number of centres of
excellence: the world renowned International Centre for Brewing and
Distilling (ICBD), the Centre for Marine Biodiversity and
Biotechnology (CMBB), and the Orkney-based International Centre for
Island Technology (ICIT). Our specialisms also include Ocean
Technology, Environmental Management, Biochemistry and Microbiology,
Food Science, Health and Exercise Science, and Applied
Psychology. Together, we administer a wide range of exciting teaching
and research programmes.
Both our teaching and research are divided into four interconnected
programmes: Biology, Environmental and Marine Science, Sport and
Exercise Science, and Applied Psychology.
