- The goal of the Geospatial Information and Communication Technology ( GeoICT)
Lab is to advance the development of innovative geospatial information and
communication technology, and integrate geomatics and ICT technologies for
innovative geospatial applications. GeoICT Lab is funded by the Canada Research
Chair program, Canada Foundation for Innovation, Ontario Innovation Trust and
York University.
GeoICT contributes to the core of geomatics technology by integrating modern
information and communication technologies. The methodologies, models, systems,
prototypes and algorithms developed will be of profound impact to broad
geomatics applications, e.g., intelligent transportation, traffic management,
emergence responses, disaster management, 3D urban mapping, fleet management,
vehicle/person tracking, mining, forestry inventory, environment monitoring,
energy exploration, fishing, wildlife assessment, farming, real estate,
business and geo-marketing, sustainable community, etc.
