The GOV.Research_Center is a partnership between the
U.S. Department of Commerce's National Technical Information
Service and the National Information Services Corporation to
offer a new online subscription service that provides a single
access point to valuable government information.
The GOV.Research_Center includes well known government sponsored
research databases like NTIS, AGRICOLA, Energy Science and
Technology, Federal Research in Progress (FEDRIP) and
NIOSHTIC. Each database is available on subscription. Additional
data sources will be offered in the near future.
This unique joint venture brings together NISC's award winning
technology and NTIS' valuable content. This service is entirely
Web based and provides information professionals easy worldwide
access. Scientists, engineers, and researchers will find NISC's
powerful search engine enables broad based, refined search and
retrieval capabilities. Individual or network subscribers can
search in different modes to retrieve the most complete and
relevant data available.
NISC publishes and distributes information products for access
through its BiblioLine, Web based search service, as well as via
CD-ROM. NISC is the consistent choice of thousands of users in a
variety of research settings worldwide. The key to their success
is an uncompromising zeal for quality throughout all phases of
product production. The NISC product line brings related
information from various sources together in a seamless
interface.
For over 50 years the U.S. Department of Commerce's NTIS has
served as the nation's central source for government wide
scientific, technical, engineering and other business related
information. The NTIS permanent collection includes well over 2
million titles, and a wide range of products and services
including databases, multimedia training materials, CD-ROM, and
online information.
