The International Paleoclimate Database (Internationale
Palaeoklima-Datenbank) holds a collection of paleoclimate proxy data
including all climate indicators available from the international
literature over the Quaternary. All data are stored in a relational
database, critically analysed and quantified in relation to the
paleoclimate.
The system is developed and maintained by a staff of 5 scientists within a
project framework, headed by Prof. Dr. Dr. B. Frenzel.
Cooperation exists between PKDB and other climate related databases in Germany
(e.g. at DKRZ, AWI, DWD, and DLR). The PKDB is a German contribution to the
terrestrial part of the International Geosphere Biosphere Program / Past Global
Changes (IGBP/PAGES).
