- The Boundary-Layer Data Facility serves as an archive and quality control center for boundary layer and turbulence field programs conducted by approximately 20 universities and research institutions in eight different countries. For external users, the facility provides diagnostic reports on various instrumentation and sampling problems and provides processed data sets for various modeling groups.The facility also maintains its own numerical model of the soil-vegetation-atmospheric boundary layer which is used by more than 30 research groups and numerical weather prediction centers including the National Center for Atmospheric Research, The National Weather Service, and the European Centre for Medium Range Forecasting.
