  • The World Data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development (WDC- Ukraine) was created as a Ukrainian branch of the World Data Center for Solar and Terrestrial Physics of the Geophysical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the structure of the Institute for Applied Systems Analysis and the National Technical University of Ukraine Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in the 2006 on the base of Agreement about the Collaboration and Scientific Exchange between Geophysical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute for Applied Systems Analysis of the National Technical University of Ukraine Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and is responsible for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development. In the 2008 due to the active support of Russian and Ukrainian academies of sciences Center has passed all required certification processes, after that it was integrated into the Russian-Ukrainian WDC segment as a World Data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development. WDC-Ukraine is a part of World Data Center System of the International Council of Science (ICSU), and acts according to the WDC System Guide. Among the basic tasks of WDC-Ukraine there is collection, handling and storage of science data and giving access to it for usage both in science research and study process. That include contemporary tutoring technologies and resources of e-libraries and archives; remote access to own information resources for the wide circle of scientists from the universities and science innsitutions of Ukraine.
