- On behalf of the faculty and staff in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, I would like to welcome you to our website. Our department is experiencing a very exciting period of growth and development. Throughout this newsletter, you will find evidence of the many ways in which our department is growing, thriving, and excelling. The latest US News and World Report ranked our undergraduate program as 15th in the nation and our graduate program as 17th. We have a large and growing number of undergraduates and, in the last year, graduated the 6th largest class of Civil and Environmental students in the country. We awarded 177 B.S. degrees and 34 graduate degrees. This year, the student pool is even larger.
