- The National Ice Core Laboratory-Science Management Office (NICL-SMO) is located at the Climate Change Research Center of the Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans and Space, at the University of New Hampshire.
The NICL-SMO is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Office of Polar Programs and serves as the primary point of contact for scientists interested in access to ice cores. NICL-SMO's primary role is the facilitation of the Ice Core Working Group (ICWG). The ICWG consists of members selected from the scientific community and investigates issues pertaining to ice core science.
