- Event-Based Science is a new way to teach science at the middle school level
that follows the Total Engagement Learning SystemTM. Event-Based Science is an
award-winning, research-based program in which newsworthy events establish the
relevance of science topics; authentic tasks create the need-to-know more about
those topics; and lively interviews, photographs, Web pages, and inquiry-based
science activities create a desire to know more about those topics. The result
is meaningful, engaged learning for your students. The Event-Based Science
Project is supported by grants from National Science Foundation (NSF) and the
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and published by Prentice
Hall. EBS is recommended by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA),
the US Department of Education, and many other organizations.
