- The University of Connecticut Department of Marine Sciences offers
interdisciplinary education that combines social and natural sciences. We also
offer two minors, Marine Biology and Oceanography, and we participate in the
University's Environmental Science Major. Our graduate degree program in
Oceanography offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Research and education in our
department is enhanced by support facilities, which include a fleet of small
vessels and our new 76-foot RV Connecticut, a seawater facility with
environmental controls, walk-in environmental chambers and clean rooms, an
electronics shop, and a fully equipped dive program that offers SCUBA
certification.
