The mission of the Global Vegetation Monitoring (GVM) Unit is to
improve our understanding of the interactions between the
terrestrial and climate components of the Earth system, assess
the impacts of change on ecosystem sustainability and highlight
the consequences for EU environment and development policies
through remote sensing research
Objectives:
The objectives of the GVM Unit include
-conducting methodological research to improve the quality of
remote sensing-derived information
-generating and delivering useful information on the state and
evolution of terrestrial environments
