- The Center of Intelligent Spatial Computing for Water/Energy Science (CISC) is established on March 1, 2006 within the College of Science (COS), and under the direction of Dr. Chaowei Yang and Dr. Paul Houser (Co-Directors). CISC is established on our research of spatial computing and water/energy studies and collaborations with our domestic and international academic or industry agencies/partners. Domestically, we are collaborating with NASA, NSF, NPS, EPA, USGS/FGDC, NOAA, ESRI, Microsoft, Intergraph and Visual Learning System. Internationally, the center is being jointly established with our Chinese partners, such as Peking University, Wuhan University, Nanjing Normal University, Heilongjiang Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, and National Geomatics Center of China. We are establishing joint efforts with other international leaders, such as Chinese Academy of Sciences. We also have collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of China. Targeted to be an international innovator and leader, CISC's research is focused on spatial computing technologies and the water/energy sciences.
