off-campus near the Goddard Space Flight Center, NASA in Maryland. owns more
than 2000 sqare feet space including offices, one conference/class room, and
computer rooms. LAITS is a member of National Committee on Information
Technology Standards Technical Committee L1. LAITS is a member of Open GIS
Consortium (OGC).
LAITS's Misson
Participating in and leading the research and application of GRID in Earth
and Space Science. Developing advanced information technologies for Earth and
Space Sciences, such as WebGIS, 3DGIS, Wireless GIS, Ubiquitous mobile
geocomputing, and geoinformation services of all. Participating in and leading
the development of federal, national, and international standards in the areas
of geographic information science and remote sensing, such as HDF-EOS,
Geospatial Metedata.
