This dataset contains monthly precipitation from station rain gauges which have been averaged for geographic boxes for January, 1900 through December, 1998. The data is available for both a 5 degree by 5 degree grid and a 2.5 degree latitude by 3.75 degree longitude grid, but values are only available over land.
