hasSummary
  • The ground-truth snow data has obtained at 22 sites along the trans-Alaska pipeline during winter and spring seasons of 2007 to 2013 with Dr. H. Enomoto and his colleagues. After the confirmation of observing date, the retrieved AMSR-E and AMSR2 were obtained from the JICS and the ADS. The data lists on the ADS with in-situ and retrieved snow depth; however, the relationship between both snow depth data was not on 1:1 line, indicating the algorithm on snow depth was not suitable for tundra and boreal forest ecosystem, Alaska. Furthermore, the algorithm may be not fitted to in-situ snow depth in high northern hemisphere. Therefore, snow depth will be monitored with time-lapsed camera at each site for the product of more exact validation in at least tundra ecosystem.
