Three study sites were selected for air, snow and ground temperature monitorings at the height of +1.50, +0.30, +0.20, +0.10, -0.01, -0.05, -0.10, -0.20, -0.30, -0.40, -0.50, -0.75, -1.00, -1.50, -2.00, -3.00, -4.00, -5.00, -5.50, -7.00 and -10.0m, respectively; Boydom is the northernmost tundra site among our study sites along the Indigirka River, Kodac is situated in a forest-tundra landscape 8 km south of Boydom, and Verkhny Khatistakh is a larch-dominated forest near a northern end of tree line.
