hasSummary
  • Inuvik is northen limit of tree distribution in Northwest Teritorries, Canada, on the continuous permafrost. Black spruce is dominant species in upland and lowland terrace of the landscape. White spruce stands exist on higher terrace with dryer sandy sediments. Shrub tundra expands mosaic patchy pattern along the Dempster Highway. We surveyed soil profiles along the Highway and characterized soil nutrient status. Soil percolate water samples and soil chemical analysis were conducted.
